Here in Lincoln County, we’re fortunate enough to have a diverse array of local venues to see live music. From the beloved Spencer Theater for the Performing Arts to a host of music-friendly bars and restaurants in the area, there’s no shortage of places to catch your favorite band. In our last entry, we highlighted just a few of the upcoming musical acts coming to Lincoln County. Now, it seems the country music industry is getting pretty excited about one of the venues where these performances are taking place as well!
The Inn of the Mountain Gods is a resort and casino just 4 miles from Ruidoso that regularly attracts excellent performances. From standup comedy to country singer-songwriters and classic rock bands, there’s a little something for everyone on the Inn of the Mountain Gods’ calendar of events. Seated in the heart of the mountains of Mescalero, this venue also offers stunning views of New Mexico’s natural beauty.
This year, the Inn of the Mountain Gods has been nominated for the Casino of the Year award at the Academy of Country Music Awards which will take place on April 3rd. The Inn of the Mountain Gods has recently hosted a number of popular country music acts including Brett Eldredge and Thomas Rhett. The proprietors of the Inn of the Mountain Gods are understandably very excited about the nomination.
“We were absolutely thrilled to be nominated by the Academy of Country Music Awards,” said Frizzell Frizzell, Jr., chief operating officer of the Inn of the Mountain Gods in an interview with Ruidoso News. “We take quite a bit of pride in providing our guests with an incredible entertainment experience. It’s truly an honor to be recognized.”
