Ruidoso is a strong community, and over the years we’ve seen many businesses and organizations work together to make the area a better place for everyone who lives here. Just recently that trend continued thanks to some fundraising efforts by a few local business owners. Spearheaded by Steve Silva of Farley’s Food, Fun and Pub and Tre Garcia of Tre’s Tattoo Shop, community members created a nonprofit called All for Kids. As the name implies, the group’s goal is to raise money for various youth organizations throughout Ruidoso and the surrounding areas.
While All for Kids is just getting started, the group has already raised a large amount of money. On April 18, All for Kids sponsored a gold tournament at Sierra Blanca. During the course of the event, almost $10,000 was raised by participants. That money will go on to benefit youth groups like the Dali’ Dance Company.
Due to the success of this first event and just general interest in the cause, the group is already planning a few more fundraising events, and they hope to make the gold tournament an annual tradition. While the nonprofit is still in its early days, we’re thrilled to see something like this happening in the Ruidoso community.
Organizations like All for Kids are just another example of why Ruidoso is a great community. If you haven’t already, we can’t wait for you to discover for yourself why Ruidoso is such a special place. For more news and updates about events happening right here, stay tuned to our blog!
